LA Eats: August 2017

LA Eats: August 2017

I went to LA for less than a day recently because we had to host a community happy hour, but, with less than 3 hours available to me, I knew I had to get some good food. Luckily, one of our community members helping us in LA had some ideas. For lunch, we went to Humble Potato, this quirky Japanese-American restaurant decorated with anime, ninjas, etc.

This Tokyo Hot Dog is a bacon-wrapped hot dog covered in pickled jalapeΓ±os, onions, and some kind of sauce that I'm forgetting the name of. I also HAD to get these fries that were topped with garlic and nori (seaweed). They were super garlicky but really crispy and delicious!

Luckily, the event we had was right down the street from this ice cream shop that I'd been wanting to go to for the longest time: Little Damage. They have chic AF activated charcoal ice cream cones and really cool colorful ice cream with names like Unicorn Tears and Mother of Dragons.

I asked for the Mother of Dragons (grey ice cream) and Unicorn Tears (blue-green ice cream), but the person didn't put enough of the MoD in for you to see it 😭 As you can see, I added Fruity Pebbles because a) I wanted more color and b) it's basically my favorite cereal. Sadly, the ice cream cone looked way better than it actually tasted, so I basically paid $7 for an Instagram photo...oh, well!
