East Bay Eats: Berkeley Social Club and Sweet Belly

East Bay Eats: Berkeley Social Club and Sweet Belly

I never, NEVER go to the East Bay because I honestly hate BART, but circumstances had me going TWICE last week. Crazy, I know. I started off at brunch with Berkeley Social Club. This place is cray-cray busy on the weekends, probably because they have bottomless mimosas! It's a pretty big place, but good luck trying to get a table for a big group.

For 3 people, we waited maybe 30 minutes but it didn't look like they had many tables for more than 4 people at a time. Also, the service was SO SLOW. It felt like it took forever for our THREE dishes to come out and other tables looked like they got their food even though they sat down after us...ANYWAY, meal below:

Eggs Benedict with Millionaire's Bacon

Blueberry marscarpone stuffed crunch french toast

Waffles and KFC (Korean Fried Chicken)

After a decadent brunch, we went to Sweet Belly in Oakland! This small shop does soft serve ice cream and mini donuts. You can get it in a cone or in a cup, top it with a giant menu of toppings, and then continue with a mini donut added on. Their flavors this month were Earl Grey and Tiramisu so I got a swirl in their matcha chocolate waffle cone topped with Cinnacrisp (rice krispies tossed with cinnamon sugar and butter) and a strawberry sugar donut!

After ALL of that, we ended up at Tender Greens in Berkeley for their opening party! The small eats were pretty good but I was sad I didn't get to try their lemonades :(
